Smocking essentially is prepleated fabric with embroidery placed above it, offering any garment that little extra embellishment.

There is truly no limit to the designs a skilled embroiderer can hand stitch. Every garment from Ocean Baby is done soley by hand at the embroidery stage, making each piece truly unique.

Why do we love Smocking at Ocean Baby?

Smocking is important to us here at Ocean Baby, because it is a time honored tradition in England. Smocking was developed in the middle ages and has had its place in English fashion for centuries. We aim to keep this beautiful tradition alive, whilst incorporating modern twists.
